RMHC Donates RM 5,000 To Sekolah Kebangsaan Datin Fatimah on the School's Speech Day 2005
KEDAH, 17 AUGUST – The Ronald McDonald Children’s Charities Fund of Malaysia (RMHC) today donated RM 5, 000 to students of Sekolah Kebangsaan Datin Fatimah on its Speech Day to celebrate the students’ achievement in their recent examinations. The event was attended by Padang Terap’s District Education Officer, Haji Ibrahim bin Hashim and McDonald’s Malaysia Joint-Venture Partner and RMHC Advisor, Encik Mohamed Shah Bin Tan Sri Abdul Kadir.
In October 1997, RMHC built a library in this school for the students who are mostly children of farmers. In his speech Mohamed Shah said, “I am impressed with the school’s achievement because every year the school will at least produce one student with grade “A” in the UPSR English paper. This shows that our objective of increasing the level of understanding of the English Language among the students is met.” He added, “We hope that the students will excel in their studies with this library as well as encouragement from parents and teachers.”
A mock cheque amounting to RM 5,000 was presented by Mohamed Shah to Mat Isa Bin Mahmud, principal of Sekolah Kebangsaan Datin Fatimah. The donation given was in the form of 200 English story books, 50 educational VCDs, a television set and a DVD player.
On behalf of RMHC, Mohamed Shah presented awards to 19 students who achieved excellent results in the school and UPSR exams. The annual Tun Fatimah Special Award for the best student this year was given to adik Ahmad Zuhdi Bin Mohamad in Year 6 for being the most outstanding student in academic, sports and leadership.
