RMHC Christmas & New Year Celebration 2005 Lighting the Candle of Hope for Children

Petaling Jaya, December 28, 2005 – Ronald McDonald Children’s Charities™ Fund of Malaysia (RMHC) today invited 100 children to celebrate a Christmas & New Year party at Kizsports & Gym, One-Utama Shopping Complex with Ronald McDonald. Funtime and games at the playland, and Movin’ with Ronald was an exciting and colourful celebration which brought joy and laughter to the children from Pusat Penjagaan Rumah Matthew, Shelter 1, Good Samaritan Home, Rumah Keluarga Kami, Philea Home and Shechem Home.

Welcoming all present, the President of RMHC, Fadillah Yakin said, “Each year especially during festive seasons, the less fortunate children are not forgotten. Established since 1990, RMHC is a charity organization which helps underprivileged children in three main areas : Health, Education and Welfare. With this being the 15th year, RMHC aims to continue lending kids a helping hand.”

She added that, “Malaysia is blessed with a multiracial society where festivities are such a norm throughout the year. However, where these are often taken for granted by many, we made it a point to draw on the festivities, utilizing these into occasions for RMHC to reachout to our society, and it is during these festivities that the less privileged are treated to a healthy variety of merriment.”

Also at the party was Ng Su Onn, Vice President of RMHC & Executive Vice President of McDonald’s Malaysia. Su Onn emphasized that, “This is our way, our commitment, our contribution, towards giving back to society. With another year coming to a close, it is hoped that our little contribution will bring about much joy to these children."

“This continuous effort made by RMHC to reachout to society is how RMHC remains steadfast in its objectives; among others, to channel our assistance towards the less fortunate children, and it is hoped that the effort made today will ease and share the burden with regards to the welfare of these children.”
