RMHC Receives Donation from Double A

On 15 September 2005, Double A donated over RM10,000.00 to the Ronald McDonald Children's Charities Fund of Malaysia. The donation was made in conjunction with the "Double A Invitational Golf Tournament 2005". The prestigious event was held at Sungai Long Golf & Country Resort.

The donation from Double A will be used for RMHC's Tunas Wawasan scholarship program. Under the program, RMHC provides financial support to children who have the potential to succeed academically but come from low income families. To date, under the RMHC Tunas Wawasan program, 125 students from all over Malaysia receive a scholarship to cover expenses incurred for school fees, text books, school uniforms as well as for pocket money. The Double A donation will be used to include several additional students under the Tunas Wawasan Program.

At the event, a mock cheque was presented by Mr. Charvit Jarusombathi, Executive Vice President of Marketing for Double A to Puan Norizamwati Zainal, RMHC Executive Secretary. Although the mock cheque was for RM10,000, the eventual donation from Double A to RMHC came up to about RM14,000. RMHC thanks Double A for its generosity!
