RMHC HELPS TSUNAMI AFFECTED STUDENTS TO PREPARE FOR GENERAL EXAMINATIONS
Head Prefect, Abdul Latif Bin Shaari, 18, said, “Students here are very excited about the donation from RMHC as it gives us the inspiration and second chance to achieve good results for our upcoming examinations, even though the Tsunami tragedy had affected us.” Most of families of students in this area had lost their incomes and houses as a result of the natural disaster last December. The donation was presented by RMHC’s Accounts Executive, Cik Norazizan Bt. A. Manaf to the Headmistress of Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Kota Kuala Muda, Puan Wan Nor Ashikin Bt. Wan Yahya and the Principal of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Kota Kuala Muda, Puan Hajjah Cik Inson Bt. Desa on the Speech Day at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Kota Kuala Muda. RMHC later provided the 1,700 students at the event with McDonald's meals. The book donation is part of the collection RMHC received for the Tsunami victims. In February 2005, RMHC presented a sum of RM 105,644 to the Malaysian Red Crescent Society. The collections were obtained from a month of RMHC coin box collections at McDonald's restaurants throughout Malaysia as well as some specific fund-raising projects undertaken by McDonald’s |

Kedah, July 24, 2005 - The Ronald McDonald Children’s Charities Fund of Malaysia (RMHC) presented a donation of school reference books and encyclopedias, valued at about RM 13,000 to 2 schools affected by the recent tsunami tragedy, i.e. Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Kota Kuala Muda and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Kota Kuala Muda. The aim of the donation is to help the affected students to face their upcoming examinations.
