RMHC Christmas & New Year Celebration 2006
“A Joyous Christmas for Children”
Petaling Jaya, December 21, 2006 – Ronald McDonald Children’s Charities™ Fund of Malaysia (RMHC) today invited 60 children to celebrate a Christmas & New Year party at Kizsports & Gym, One-Utama Shopping Complex with Ronald McDonald. Funtime and games at the playland, and Movin’ with Ronald was an exciting and colourful celebration which brought joy and laughter to the children from Good Samaritan Home and Stepping Stones Home.
Welcoming all present, the President of RMHC, Fadillah Yakin said, “Each year especially during festive seasons, the less fortunate children are not forgotten. We hope the children enjoy a joyous Christmas and a fun New Year!
At the celebration, the children were also entertained by the Santa Claus and “Sing-A-long & dance” with home guardians, volunteers and children from different homes. The children were later treated to a McDonald’s Happy Meal sponsored by RMHC. As an encouragement to the children, RMHC also presented goody bags sponsored by Staedtler, story books and toys sponsored by McDonald’s as well as KizSports Tumble and token by RMHC. Also during the celebration, a cheque donation of RM5,000 has been made to a baby girl who needs urgent medical care.
Puan Fadillah added that, “Malaysia is blessed with a multiracial society where festivities are such a norm throughout the year. However, where these are often taken for granted by many, we made it a point to draw on the festivities, utilizing these into occasions for RMHC to help the underprivileged children and bring them joy, that’s why we are having this “A Joyous Christmas for Children”!”
On the involvement of RMHC, the Secretary of RMHC, Miss Rachel Lee added that, “It is hoped that the contribution by RMHC for celebrations such as the one today, will bring about much joy to these children."
