RMHC 18th Annual General Meeting16 April - RMHC today held it's 18th Annual General Meeting at the McDonald's Head Office in Damansara Uptown, Petaling Jaya. RMHC members who attended the meeting were shown a video of the society's 2006 activities by RMHC volunteers – Fared and Nasir. Powerpoint presentations on society’s 2006 activities report were presented by Ruth Chua, RMHC Executive and Alea, Ronald McDonald House Manager. In addressing the meeting, RMHC President Fadillah Yakin informed members that the society has built for itself a positive reputation as a supporter of children's causes throughout the country. She added that RMHC continued with its ongoing projects such as the Ronald McDonald Snoezelen Room, Give a Gift of Smile campaign, RMHC Tunas Wawasan Scholarship program and the Ronald McDonald House-HUKM project. She also informed the members that RMHC is in the process of getting a second Ronald McDonald House built and more Ronald McDonald Snoezelen Rooms to be donated to the needy unfortunate children in Malaysia.
Managing Director for McDonald's Malaysia, Mr Azmir Jaafar said that RMHC'c efforts have certainly been affirmative to McDonald's and has achieved it’s aim to give opportunity to the less fortunate children of Malaysia to grow and achieve their fullest potential. It has also attained what McDonald’s founder, Ray Kroc said, “We have an obligation to give something back to the communities that give us so much.” He encouraged the new RMHC Committee Members will continue the good works to lend more helping hands to the under privileged children in Malaysia. On its part McDonald's Malaysia will continue to give support to RMHC through its annual grant to fund the society's administrative expenses.
Miss Gloria Ting, RMHC Ambassador also mentioned that she will try her best to play her part to help more unfortunate children in Malaysia, through RMHC.
RMHC is pleased to announce the 2007-08 lineup as follows: President : Fadillah Yakin Vice President : Daniel Chan Secretary : Sofiah Thoo Assistant Secretary : Harlina Mat Tan Treasurer : Chan Chee Chin Committee Members: Kelly Chan, Fartini Zaharuddin, Ong Pang Kiat, Nasir Mailok and Thiru <!--[if lt IE 7.]>
The meeting also reappointed Mohamed Shah Kadir, Suliana Rosli and Mazlan Abdullah as Advisors. Azmir Jaafar, Managing Director of McDonald's Malaysia and Stephen Chew, General Manager of Marketing, Corporate Communications and Business Development, McDonald’s Malaysia were also appointed as advisors while Yap Seng Chong of audit firm Ernst&Young was reelected as the society's auditor.
