The festive event which is the first for RMHC is organized with the objective of instilling patriotic values in the young as well as to give an opportunity for these children to feel happy on this special occasion.

Partners for the event, Encik Ted Adnan who is an advisory panel member of Kids Klick, and representatives from Sanford Stationery Products (M) Sdn. Bhd.were also at the event. In his speech, Mohamed Shah said “We hope that the children present today will learn to appreciate our nation’s struggle for independence and would therefore work hard to preserve the nation's freedom.”
Activities held during the event were the Merdeka Exhibition, “Merdeka Hunt” and photography activity organized by Kids Klick. The Merdeka Exhibition put up by the museum showcases the history of the nation’s independence while the “Merdeka Hunt” was a fun way to test the children’s understanding of history depicted in the exhibition. The photography activity organized by Kids Klick then gave the children an opportunity to present their view of the nation’s independence through the photos they produced. In keeping with the spirit of patriotism, everyone then sang “Jalur Gemilang” before the Merdeka cake cutting ceremony.
