In her speech at the press conference, RMHC President Puan Fadillah Yakin said, “This is the ninth RMHC Charity Golf event that we have organized. Proceeds from this event will be channeled to two major RMHC projects: the building of a second Ronald McDonald House and the Tunas Wawasan scholarship program.

The Ronald McDonald House is a home away from home for families who have to travel far to enable their children who are suffering from serious illnesses to receive treatment at the Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. To date, more than 180 families have benefitted from this house which was built on the grounds of the Hospital. RMHC therefore is very keen to build the second Ronald McDonald House to enable more families in need to benefit from this facility. It is a project that can serve the needs of the largest number of people.

The “RMHC Tunas Wawasan” is a scholarship program that gives scholarships to underprivileged children. The scholarship includes school fees, book expenses, pocket money and other schooling needs. RMHC currently helps more than 40 secondary school students all across the nation. RMHC works with the Ministry of Education to choose two students from each state to be under this program every year over the next five years.
