RMHC CELEBRATES DEEPAVALI & HARI RAYA WITH SPECIAL GUESTS - November 24, 2004

RMHC today celebrated Deepavali and Hari Raya with children from the Sri Shenbagavalli Ashram in Sungei Besi and Asrama PEYAKIN in Klang. A total of 110 children and their teachers attended the joint festival celebration held at the Kelana Seafood Restaurant in Kelana Jaya, Selangor.

In her welcome speech RMHC President Fadillah Yakin welcomed the children from the homes and said that festivals are always happy times for children and that RMHC hopes that bringing the children together for the celebration will enable them to enjoy the twin festivals. Children from both homes put up special performances for the guests. They then took part in ketupat making and kolom drawing. McDonald's Chief Happiness Officer, Ronald McDonald entertained the children.

After a lunch of traditional Malay Hari Raya and Indian Deepavali dishes, the children were each given special gifts and 'duit Raya' packets.
